Abstract

Social studies in Elementary school consists of various disciplines that is packed in one subject integratedly. It cause the subject be widely and develop according to term developing. At other side, heterogeneous student composition in a class has to be prepared even with a number competences which can help them to adaptate to the environment.

This condition becomes big problem while student shall gain control all competences that is made by the government. At the end of this condition of , the student has no spririt to study material and in the end, student point becomes lower.

This research lifts about problem increase Student ability in Social Studies by Cooperative Learning Jigsaw in SD Islam Teladan Panglima Besar Soedirman Jakarta 2008

This research aims to fix and increases content quality, entry, process and Social studies result. Observational method that is utilized is classroom Action Research with 2 cycles and each cycle are performed in two times appointment. Then data processing utilizes kualitatif's approaching.

After processing data and analisize, found that with cooperative learning l Jigsaw can increase studies result. Learning is not teacher centred but change to the student centred. With cooperative learning Jigsaw, the learning more meaningfull and student potency can be developed.
